How did you find out about Tokushima University and why did you decide to enroll in Tokushima University?

The information was obtained from students who had graduated from our department and school.

How did you prepare for the entrance exam to Tokushima University?

I prepared for the exam by gathering relevant information from the website of Tokushima University and learning from the experiences of previous applicants.

What kind of research did you do while you were enrolled at Tokushima University? Could you please share any difficulties you faced in your research? Also, when you had difficulties, how did you overcome them?

While studying at Tokushima University, I was able to conduct experimental research—particularly in neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and developmental biology—which was either not available or had not been carried out at my home university at the time. As a result of this research, I published an article titled "Spinal nerve defects in mouse embryos prenatally exposed to valproic acid."

During my studies, the Department and the International Student Office at Tokushima University were very supportive and attentive to us at every step, so I did not face any major difficulties. Of course, I encountered some challenges due to climate differences, such as extreme heat or allergic reactions to certain environmental factors.

Please tell us about your memories of Tokushima and Tokushima University during your stay.

The years I spent studying and graduating from Tokushima University were very memorable and precious times of my life. In fact, it’s difficult to fully express them all in writing. Ever since I was young, I had dreamed of studying in Japan. Tokushima City and Tokushima University, in particular, felt very similar to my hometown, Ulaanbaatar—especially with Mount Bizan in the front, which reminded me of our own Bogd Khan Mountain.

During my time there, I made many friends from countries such as Japan, the United States, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Most importantly, my son was born while I was studying in Japan. He is now 10 years old. In Mongolian tradition, it is important for children to visit the place of their birth, so last year, after eight years, my family and I visited Tokushima again during the Awa Odori Festival to pay our respects.

I studied in Japan through a scholarship provided by the Japanese Government. Since this is the support of the people of Japan, I strongly believe that it is my duty to give back through hard work and dedication. That is why I always strive to do my best.

What was your impression of Tokushima and Japan?

As mentioned above, I have many fond memories and joyful moments related to Tokushima University and Japan. With that, I would like to conclude this section here.

Could you please share with us the details of your current job?

As of today, I am serving as the Academic Secretary at the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, the largest medical and health sciences institution in Mongolia. I also hold the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Anatomy, School of Biomedicine, Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences.

Through these roles, I continuously strive to strengthen and expand academic and research collaboration between Mongolia and Japan—especially with Tokushima University, where I graduated. In line with this effort, I visited Tokushima University last year (2024) to hold meetings, agreements, and discussions with the leadership of both institutions. I am truly delighted that we are already seeing the first outcomes of this collaboration.
